I was given a friendship with Angie Hayes about 5 months after I moved to Millington.  I have always believed that we do not live parallel lives…. that we all intersect at some point… even if we never meet.  I am so glad that I have had the chance to meet Angie though… the gift of her friendship has changed my life.  She gives confidence to my wings.

Growing gardens will always be symbolic of our friendship to me… as we have grown closer, so has my life grown bigger and better than I could ever imagine.  I am excited to watch your children grow, as one day you will watch mine.

Here are a couple of your beautiful “growing things”…

Off to editing land!

Confession time:

My photography is mostly for me.  I began to take on clients “officially” last February.  The Doc said, “hunnie… you gotta find a way to support this camera lense addiction of yours”.  Photography is not a cheap hobby to say the least.  No problem… besides… it gives me the opportunity to tell stories.  (I come from a family of storytellers.  Wild imaginations are genetic apparently.) This leads me to being mindful of the clients I take on.  We need to establish a connection.  I need to be able to do something different with each client.  I get bored easily (A.D.D. poster child) and so each session has to be fresh and unique and exciting.   If I cannot tell a true story (or create a fantastic one) with my camera… then what is the point?

I have fallen in love with telling other people’s stories.  I got to tell one last week of two brothers.

They are Boys with a capital “B”.  I did my best to speak boy language and to keep them from beating the crap out of each other.  They did their best to be charming and ridiculously handsome.

*sigh*

I heart boys.

Anyway, these particular boys have been on quite a journey together with their amazing Mom.  They are a strong and beautiful family. (and loads of fun too!)

That’s it… saving the rest of them for the gallery!

Off to spread some sunshine!

I guess I am ready to let everyone know.

We lost our sweet Bailey Blue about a month ago.  She and Beau ninja’ed their way out of the new fence and went on an adventure.  About a week later, Beau returned without her.  We have searched and exhausted all possible ways to find her.  In our hearts, I think we know she is not coming back.  She and Beau would never ever leave each other.  I like to think that maybe she got picked up by someone and is making them very happy (the selfish part of me also hates this idea because I want her home with ME…. she is my girl…).  I pray that if she died, she was not in any pain.

We have been just heartbroken and sick over this.  Beau does not know what to do with himself.  He misses her so much.  He looks like a sad old man sometimes.  We decided that he needs a companion, but I just can’t stomach getting another dog at this point.  I still miss Bailey too much.  Instead, we decided to get him a kitten.  Beau loves cats, but most cats hate him.  He is the sweetest guy, but I think that he is so hyper that he scares them, haha!  My good friend Angie put me in touch with a woman who has kittens she needs to find homes for, and these kittens have been around small hyper doggies!  Angie brought me out to her house and I came home with the sweetest black kitten with beautiful green eyes!

Meet “Lollie”.

She could never replace Bailey, but she has purred her way into our hearts already.  We love having her around!  Beau loves her, and she is warming up to him sloooowly.  She is already showing some ninja tendencies, so I am sure they will be good buddies soon!

Off to edit ’till I drop…  (have had so many fun sessions, lately, I don’t even know where to start lol!)

There is a little girl named Maddie Grace.

She is not always graceful, but she walks with her feet off the ground.

Maddie’s mind is full of stories and wonderings.  She asks her mom pointed and poignant questions.

She is innocent in a way that most kids aren’t anymore.  She cannot be rushed to do anything- whether it be  changing her shoes in dance class or growing older.

Maddie is effortlessly beautiful, but she will never know it.

Fairies dance in her eyes.

Mark and Sarah did what we all secretly wished we had done instead of the traditional wedding… they ran off to Hawaii!

They were nice enough to bring back a bit of Hawaii with them when they hosted a beautiful reception for family and friends a couple of weeks ago.

Here is a sneak peek of their Luau!

Off to dreamland!

I’m playing “catch up” y’all.  Dance camp had had me going in circles!

I spotted this gorgeous mommy to be at a wedding and begged her to let me photograph her.  Lucky for me, she agreed!

Ms. “C”, you were a fabulous model for my first maternity session.  I can’t wait to show you all of these!

Here is a sneak peak for ya!

Off to share some sunshine!

my girl, talkin bout my girl

When I was 19 years old and entering my sophomore year of college, I got hired as a nanny for two professors at my college.  They were first time parents of a gorgeous 6 week old and just about as nervous as could be.  That job changed my life.  I grew quite attached to that sweet girl, and her little brother who came along (quite the surprise to all of us!) almost 15 months later.  We all grew to love each other very much over the next four years.  The Mr. And Mrs. sort of watched me grow up while I was helping them raise their own kids.  It was quite the experience, and one I’ll never forget.

Since I finished college and moved away and got married, I don’t get to see them as much as I’d like.  Miss. “M” turned 6 years old yesterday.  I got to kidnap her and take her to spend the night with me in Memphis a few days ago.  I got her a jeweled turtle necklace and a special box to but her teeth in for the tooth fairy (because her teeth are going to be getting wiggly now that she is six!).   She was kind enough to pose for a few photos while she was here.

Happy birthday my sweet girl!  Bingy loves you!!!!

And I can’t leave out her precious little bro,  Mr. ”P”  either… I thought a wide angle lens would be a nice way to show off those goggles he is sporting, haha!

Off to ninja my way through a Sunday evening!
