A random post for a random mood I am in:
Things I love that are green:
The Doc’s eyes. Seriously. They are incredible. If our babies get my ugly grey/blue ones instead of his, I am sending them back.
Granny Smith apples. I could eat them everyday. They are awesome with peanut butter. Or sometimes just salt. I prefer to cut them into pieces from the core, but I am dangerous with knives.
The walls of two rooms of our house. It is so light green that it is almost not a color at all. Perfect.
The center of dandelions.
Green apple Jolly Ranchers. And Green apple vodka for that matter. But not together. Ew.
The fuzzy green blanket that I sometimes wrap newborns in when I photograph them.
Christmas trees. They are actually rather ugly little things (which is why I guess we feel the need to make them beautiful). But I love them because of the way they smell. They smell like my birthday…
Mint chocolate chip ice cream…. which I fantasize about almost daily because I can no longer eat dairy.
Green eyeshadow… it’s fun and makes me feel like me when I wear it.
Pickles and green olives. I could seriously eat them every day. (Okay, I go through phases where I do eat them almost everyday.)
“Green” names like Oliver.
Oscar the Grouch. Because he just doesn’t give a damn what anyone thinks of him.
Green tea. But not the pre-mixed kind with high fructose corn syrup added. The kind that comes in little tea bags.
The army jacket I’ve always had and was wearing the night I fell in love with the nerdy boy down the street who was, coincidentally wearing an army jacket of his own when he fell in love with the weird punk girl down the street who happened to become his wife who happens to adore his green eyes.
Things I do not like that are green:
Green snot. No, I will not post a photo.
Cabbage. Which is, in fact, the only green vegetable that I do not like.
Money. Not because of any philosophical or moral reason… but because it is incredibly disgusting with all of it’s germy fingerprints.
Neon green anything. It works for blue and pink and even yellow and orange, but why must we neon such a perfectly lovely color as green?
Suddenly pretending to have a “green”/organic lifestyle because and only because it is fashionable right now. Before it was cool to be a “save the planet- I am a saint because I recycle-peace sign wearing- hippie”, we were just called “those-weird-tree hugging-hippies”.

Another one of my hopeful models.
Remember me when you make it big… cause you’re going to go a long way baby.

I am convinced that the cutest kids in the world are students at my dance school. One of my ballerinas, Miss “O”, and her Baby Sister “S” came to the studio for photos instead of dance lessons last week.
Miss. O is a mostly solemn little thinker who likes to observe before she joins in. She takes her time and does things when she is ready. She knows what she wants. She is also the sweetest little cuddlebug you’ll ever meet!
Miss S is a human tornado and just about the wigglyest monkey to ever look into my lens. She is equally deliciously adorable!
Put them both together and you get the magic of sisterhood. One of them can barely talk and they are already best friends. The wonderment of sisterhood always amazes me.

They must have thought I was nuts.
I asked them to assign each person a word that describes their family. They blew me away with their suggestions!
(you can click on the image to see it larger)
I have one word for this family:
Phenomenal
Off to spread some sunshine!

I am a list maker, that is what I do. I was feeling a lot of memories tonight for some reason.
I think it’s the weather.
Things I miss:
- Being my mom’s little girl, instead of her mostly strong and mostly mature and mostly grown-up daughter.
- My long, perfectly straight, hippie hair. Seriously, it was down to my waist. Definitely growing it out again!
- Bailey Blue.
- Being in dance class as a student and just pouring myself into the work.
- Spending whole days being lost in Morgan and Peter’s little world.
- Morning coffee and last minute shopping at Target with Chelsea, my best friend from college.
- My little brother… we just don’t see each other much.
- My purple Doc Martins that I wore everyday until they fell apart my junior year of high school.
- That tree that was taken down by Katrina that had mine and The Doc’s names scratched in it.
- Crawfish boils with my loud crazy family… we seem to have shrunk a lot this year.
- Being able to dance on my toes for hours and hours instead of only a few agonizing minutes.
- My friend Kalin… she dumped me for college and other things. (I still love you sweetie!)
- Beau and Bailey’s puppy breath… yes I am one of those weirdos who loves baby puppy breath.
- My mind (hahahahhahhaaaaa).
Things I would not trade for the world:
- Being an almost grown up.
- Teaching those sweet ballerinas everyday. I live for their giggles and hugs.
- Living day in and day out with the most incredible man alive. I married the best one of the best ones.
- The connection I get to make with my subjects every time I click the shutter button.
- Our big back yard. Even though the house that sits on it is impossibly tiny and needs repairs, the yard feels almost infinite when I am back there running around with Beau.
- Being able to be happy about something during most hours of most everyday.
- My worn out old dancer’s feet that still keep on loving the life they are in.
- Mpix family. ‘Nuff said.
- Seeing my mom’s perfect blue eyes sparkle every now and then.
- Jason’s Deli… seriously, the best food ever. (Aside from Momma’s of course!)
- Having ears that don’t work very well, but can still let music in. Music is like a best friend to me.
- Books that can take me anywhere.
- My belief that miracles happen, people are basically good, love endures, and imaginary friends are real.

These two just melted my heart. Their adoration for each other and their unborn baby girl took my breath away. (Not to mention, they are both gorgeous… this is going to be one stunning little newborn.)
I can’t wait to meet “Miss P”!
